Red Oak
Red Oak wood floorhas a similar Heartwood’s and sapwood, with sapwood lighter in color. Most pieces have a reddish tone, slightly redder than White Oak.
Red Oak Wood Floor Grain is open, slightly coarser (more porous) than white oak. Plainsawn boards have a plumed or flared grain appearance, riftsawn boards have a tighter grain pattern, low figuring and quartersawn boards have a flake pattern.
Red Oak hardwood floors are Commodity item and are available in many types, styles and sizes of flooring.
Red Oak floors have a hardness of 1290 in Janka Table. They are stiff & dense, resist wear and less durable than white oak.
They are good floors for sanding and finishing and have a strong stain contrast, because of the pores
