Yellow Birch
Birch Wood Floor has reddish brown tinged with red and the sapwood is creamy yellow or pale white in yellow birch, heartwood is light.
It has closed grain, medium figuring, straight and even textured. Occasionally in some boards you may notice curly grain or wavy figure.
Birch Wood has a hardness of 1260 in Janka Table, 2% softer than Northern red oak. It is durable, hard, stiff and very strong. It is good to work with machine tools, but difficult to work with hand tooled. It is excellent for sanding and finishing.
